The Big Bang Theory Review
The Big Bang Theory is written by a vast group of writers but was created by Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady, this show is an American sitcom and is shown on CBS, it can also be found on E4 and E4+1.
The Big Bang Theory is about a group of nerdy individuals. The show is not so much based on their jobs as scientist or on their scientific discovery's, but is about their social life and what they do when they are not working.
About the Characters
Physicists Sheldon Copper and Leonard Hofstader are roommates and although they are best friends the have a weird way of showing it, these two are always disagreeing with each other. Raj Koothrappali is the astrophysicist of the group, although he is charming and sweet around his friend when it comes to talking to women he physically cant speak, and then there's Howard Wolowitz the only scientist in there group that doesn't have a PHD and he constantly teased about this from the others. Howard is the aerospace engineer, because you know every nerdy group of scientist needs their aerospace engineer.
Penny is a waitress at the Cheesecake Factory and a want she moved to Pasadena California to become an actress. Neuroscientist Amy Farrah Fowler, who joins the group after being matched to Sheldon on a dating website. Bernadette Rostenkowski, Howard's girlfriend, a microbiologist and
former part-time waitress alongside Penny.
The Plot
When Sheldon and Leonard come home to find that the gorgeous penny is moving into the flat opposite them, Leonard decides to step out of his nerdy bubble to go introduces himself and changing his life for the better. By getting to know penny the scientist have opened themselves up to a whole new world and are learning to socialise with more people. These guys are the best at what they do but when is comes to dealing with the real world they have a lot to learn.
This show dose not represent nerds/geeks in the way that other shows would such as that they do not abandon their old ways to try and fit in, they stay just the way they are and still make friends with people they would not normally talk to (i.e Penny, Amy and Bernadette etc...). I think that this is such a good way of showing people that they don't have to change who they are to be cool or to have a good time.
I think that this show is a good little something to watch as it is a funny and relatable show for many teens. You could even watch it if your want a bit of a laugh or maybe you just have nothing to do but I do highly recommend this show.
